Forests for insects……insects for forests

Mother and children (john McF)

Insects are amazing and National Insect Week, 23rd to 29th June, is for discovering more about them and having fun at the same time! The Forestry Commission is supporting Insect Week with downloadable resources for schools and other visitors and information about insects at some sites.

Resources are available to download on the website. These include a colourful information sheet with exciting activities, a simple tick list for younger children and a more detailed data collection sheet with information about the role of insects in the ecosystem. The activity sheet ‘Forests for insects…..insects for forests’ will be available to pick up at some sites during the week, including the Reptile Centre and Bolderwood.
