Are you ready to teach Prehistory?

The Red House Museum is welcoming KS2 teachers from the Christchurch, East Dorset and New Forest area for a free twilight training session called ‘Know Your Prehistory’

If you feel you could benefit from improving your subject knowledge of prehistory  and archaeology, from the Stone Age to the Iron Age, this is a great opportunity to do it in a stimulating and inspiring  location.

The Red House Museum’s archaeology gallery is a fantastic resource for investigating the transitions between prehistoric periods, and the school programme gives children the opportunity to get hands on with archaeology.

The session will take place on Thursday 26 June 2014 at the Red House Museum and Gardens, Christchurch.

Refreshments will be available from 3.45pm,  and the session takes place between 4pm and 6pm. The session will include a ‘prehistory in a nutshell’ presentation,  an opportunity to look around the archaeology galleries and new resources available to schools, as well as a chance  to try out and discuss some practical ideas to do in school.

If you would like to discuss in more detail or to book your place, please contact Laura Bullivant, Community Engagement and Learning Officer using the form below.
